F1 Starting Grid – 2025 Canadian Grand Prix and what to expect!

June 14, 2025 – Qualifying has wrapped up at the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve, and the grid is set for Sunday’s Canadian Grand Prix — Round 10 of the 2025 Formula 1 World Championship.
🔝 Pole Position
George Russell (Mercedes) delivered one of the best laps of his F1 career on medium tyres, securing pole position by just 0.160 seconds ahead of reigning champion Max Verstappen.

🥈 Front Row & Top Contenders
Max Verstappen (Red Bull) starts second, narrowly missing out on pole.
Oscar Piastri (McLaren) will line up third after an impressive run.
Andrea Kimi Antonelli (Mercedes) continues to impress in his rookie season with a strong P4.
Lewis Hamilton (Ferrari) takes fifth ahead of Fernando Alonso (Aston Martin), who ran multiple laps on a single set of mediums for a bold qualifying strategy.

⚔️ Midfield Shake-Up
Lando Norris (McLaren) wasn’t able to extract the full potential of his car, ending up seventh.
Charles Leclerc (Ferrari) had to abort his final flying lap after encountering dirty air in the final sector.
Isack Hadjar (Racing Bulls) starts ninth with a solid Q3 appearance.
Alex Albon (Williams) recovered from a dramatic Q1 incident where his engine cover flew off, causing a red flag. The Williams crew worked fast, and he repaid them by making it into the top ten.
⛔ Penalties & Setbacks
Yuki Tsunoda (Racing Bulls) originally qualified 11th but will start last after receiving a 10-place grid penalty for overtaking under red flag conditions in Free Practice 3.

🧠 Qualifying Highlights
Russell called his lap one of the most exhilarating of his life, securing his first pole of the season with style.
Leclerc was frustrated after his final run was disrupted, costing him a chance at the front rows.
Alonso’s strategic gamble on medium tyres paid off, placing him right in the thick of the front-running action.
Albon’s Q1 drama could have ended his day early, but quick work from the Williams team turned things around.
Tsunoda's penalty will force a charge from the back on Sunday.
